From Athenawiki
The experiment consists of producing a test thesaurus as a possible embryon of the Athena Thesaurus. First of all, the objective of this experiment is to practically test a collaborative process of updating of the existing Athena Thesaurus (the process itself is presented in the part Process & Issues). Any update results from either a new mapping of a terminology with the Athena Thesaurus, or an enrichment of the terms of the Athena Thesaurus. This experiment will lead to the definition of a workflow detailing all the tasks necessary to make all along the process. Such a workflow will refer to methodologies and tools dedicated to the specific tasks. In order to define it, we propose to follow a step-by-step experiment. The steps are described below.
STEP 1: AthenaThesaurus v0.1
- to use PICO Thesaurus
- to select one specific part (specialization) of PICO
- to keep the relations between its two versions in Italian (L1) and English (L2) as native alignment
STEP 2: AthenaThesaurus v0.2
- make a first alignment by domain terms, beginning of a collaboration (simple mapping structure)
- to align a new term list of a domain already represented in AthenaThesaurus v0.1
- to use RMCA terminology (archeology domain) in Dutch (L3) and French (L4)
- to SKOSify RMCA if necessary
- to find in L2 (english) terms to map with those of RMCA Dutch version (L3)
- to keep the relations between the two versions in Dutch (L3) and French (L4) as native alignment
STEP 3: AthenaThesaurus v0.3
- to use Köstoruz, to specialize it by isolating archeology terms (L5)
- to start mapping these terms with AthenaThesaurus v0.2
- to meet potential lacks for a few terms in the whole network of vocabularies : L1, L2, L3, L4
- to propose to enrich one of these lists (which one? L2 --> L2') by new terms translated for hungarian ones identified before
- to moderate this enrichment (who is required? Karim?)
